Back to main Panther page   Here you can see the view of the laser/led pickup unit from the trackball hole. The black dot in the middle should be dead center in the trackball hole. Notice that I shaved down the oval shaped red base unit with sandpaper, so that I could get as close to the trackball as possible. I have removed the old trackball rubber rollers and springs. All that is left in the hole is the 3 roller bearings. My trackball was rubbing on the round plastic area at the bottom of the hole so I shaved off some of the hole at the bottom so that the trackball was just resting on the 3 bearings only. Very smooooooth indeed.
